 Introduction : Someone involved in the process of collection of sneakers is usually termed as a Sneakerhead. This concept of sneakers and Sneakerhead had given rise to ''SNEAKER CULTURE'' . Sneaker culture includes purchasing, retailing, collecting, reselling, etc

SNEAKER CULTURE

Well, this culture came into existence during the late 1980s. The United States  was  majorly involved in sneaker culture and was responsible for promoting sneaker culture. This culture spread globally with a storm in the late 90s.

With the existence of sneaker culture, the whole concept of sneakers has changed.Sneakers are now more than just a part of our lifestyle. These days, Sneakers had become the status that defines fashion in the real sense.

Brands defining Sneaker Culture :  Sneaker culture is not associated with sneakers only but it also considers the brands that manufacture the sneakers. The major brands that had dominated the sneaker market include Nike, Adidas, Puma, Air Jordan, Reebok, Fila, Vans, and many more. Market these days is flooded with a number of sneaker brands, which shows how much hyped this concept of sneaker culture is.


Slangs often used for Sneakers ;

  • "Cop"  – To purchase or acquire
  • "Deadstock" – A pair of sneakers that has never been worn
  • "Dope" – Fashionable
  • "Goat" – Greatest of all time
  • "Hypebeast" – those who buy the latest releases
  • "Kicks" – Shoes
